Hoverboard battery failure to blame for Wrentham house fire, officials say

A house fire in Wrentham Thursday afternoon started because of a hoverboard, according to fire officials.

The Massachusetts State Fire Marshal’s office told Boston 25 News it was an accident where the lithium battery failed.

The fire began on the second floor of a home on Oak Point, right near Lake Archer.

The deputy fire chief told Boston 25 that the two people who were inside, along with a dog, all got out safely.

Six people lived in the building.

No firefighters were hurt.
