SANDWICH, Mass. — A 27-year-old male was arrested Thursday evening after he allegedly broke into a residence in Sandwich.
At approximately 5:48 p.m., the Sandwich Police Department received calls from a residence on Widow Coombs Walk for reports of a male breaking into someone’s house.
Once officers arrived on the scene, they observed a naked male lying in a bed at the house. The male was later identified as Joseph Robertson, 27, of Forestdale. Robertson jumped out of the bed and lunged towards the officers when they tried speaking with him. He was quickly restrained and placed in handcuffs.
After further investigation, officers learned of two altercations that occurred, which left a 68-year-old male with minor injuries. The male was evaluated by Sandwich Fire Department and refused to be transported to a nearby hospital.
Robertson was later placed under arrest for breaking and entering, assault and battery on a person over 60-years-old, and resisting arrest. Roberston was later placed on $20,000 cash bail and will appear in Barnstable District Court Friday, August 13.
