Firefighter injured after early morning blaze amid hoarding conditions in Nashua (Nashua Fire Rescue)

NASHUA, NH — A firefighter was injured while battling a two-alarm house fire in Nashua early Saturday morning, fire officials said.

Nashua Fire Rescue crews responded to 5 Lynde Street around 3:55 AM for reports of a building fire.

Once on scene, crews found flames showing from an occupied 2 and a half story single-family home. Due to the extent of the fire, a second alarm was struck, bringing all Nashua fire companies to the scene.

Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and worked to extinguish the heavy fire. Officials said access to the home was made more difficult because of extreme hoarding conditions inside the building.

A search of the residence determined that all occupants had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.

Crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading beyond the home where it originated.

One firefighter suffered an ankle injury while operating at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The displaced residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office.

Mutual aid departments from Merrimack, Manchester, Hudson, Tyngsborough, and Chelmsford provided station coverage during the incident.
