Family, friends to gather at funeral for Randolph police officer who died in crash

RANDOLPH, Mass. — Family, friends, and loved ones will gather Friday morning for a funeral Mass to bide farewell to a veteran Randolph police officer who was killed in a crash on Route 3 last weekend.

A funeral for 61-year-old Michael Beal is slated to get underway at 11 a.m. at Saint Bernadette Church on North Main Street. A procession from Cartwright Funeral Home to the church will get underway around 10:45 a.m.

Beal was involved in a crash with another car on the southbound side of the highway in Hingham on Saturday morning, Randolph Police Chief Anthony Marag said. He died of his injuries.

Beal was married with eight children. He was a 35-year veteran of the department.

The crash remains under investigation.
