Police searching for woman suspected of abandoning puppy in Groveland alley

GROVELAND, Mass. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a woman allegedly abandoned a puppy on Monday afternoon.

Groveland Police say they responded to an area of Main Street around 3 p.m. for a report of an abandoned Australian Shepherd puppy. Responding officers say the dog had no apparent injuries and immediately began investigating.

Surveillance cameras showed a blonde woman driving a black Mazda SUV wearing a black Maine School of Law sweatshirt leaving the pup and fleeing the scene, according to authorities.

She is now being sought on suspicion of animal cruelty.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.
