Chelmsford Police investigating bank robbery

CHELMSFORD, Mass. — The Chelmsford Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place shortly after 4 p.m., Thursday.

The robbery took place at the Eastern Bank on Chelmsford St.

“Bank staff told police that a man walked in and verbally demanded cash from a teller” according to Chelmsford Police.

The suspect fled on foot towards Katrina Drive.

Officials did not disclose how much money the suspect took off with.

Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

“No injuries were reported in the incident and the investigation remains active and ongoing” according to Police.

Police describe the suspect as being a heavyset male. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a black neck gaiter, a Boston Celtics knit hat, a brown jacket, black pants and red shoes.

The Chelmsford Police are asking anyone who may have any information to please contact them.
