Check those tickets! 6 $50K, 1 $1M Powerball winners sold in Massachusetts as jackpot rises

BOSTON — There may have been no jackpot winner in Saturday’s record Powerball drawing, but several lottery players in Massachusetts have reasons to wake up happy.

The jackpot grew to a world-record $1.9 billion after no one hit the winning numbers of 28-45-53-56-69 and Power Ball 20.

But in Massachusetts, a $1 million winning ticket was sold at Boxboro Mobil on Mass. Ave. in Boxboro, by matching the first five numbers drawn.

Six people in Massachusetts also won $50,000 by matching four out of the first five numbers, plus the Power Ball. Those tickets were sold at the following locations:

  • Speedway, 343 Scenic Hwy., Buzzards Bay
  • The Little Store, 547 Boston Post Rd. E, Marlborough
  • Jackansons, 1921 Ocean St., Marshfield
  • Star Market, 1 Snow Rd., Marshfield
  • Stop & Shop, 39 Nathan Ellis Hwy., Mashpee
  • Stop & Shop, 24 Mattakeesett St., Pembroke

“With the jackpot at a world record level, this is a very exciting time for our customers and our retail partners, and we encourage people to keep the experience enjoyable by playing responsibly and within their means,” said Mark William Bracken, Interim Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery.

The next Powerball drawing is Monday night.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
