CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Authorities have identified the man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Cambridge on Friday.
The Middlesex District Attorney has identified the individual as William Woodworth, 64, of Watertown.
Around 8 p.m. on August 21, Cambridge police responded to a call on the department’s business line, reporting suspicious individuals in a loading dock/parking lot behind area businesses at the intersection on Temple Street.
A preliminary investigation suggests that Woodworth was in his vehicle when police arrived on scene. He allegedly exited his vehicle and pointed a firearm at officers.

Cambridge police allegedly attempted to physically disarm him when he was struck.
A loaded firearm was allegedly taken from him.
The shooting is still under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
