21-year-old Middleborough man arrested, charged with murdering his parents, police say

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. — A 21-year-old man from Middleborough is being accused of murdering his parents after both were found dead on Thursday morning.

Middleborough Police Chief Joseph Perkins and Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz held a press conference on Thursday afternoon to update the public on the details of the investigation.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, officers with the Middleborough Police Department responded to 3 Highland Street to check on the wellbeing of Renee True, 55, and David True, 52 after neither one showed up for work.

While checking, police found Renee and David dead inside the home.

After discovering the victims, the police arrested the couple’s 21-year-old son Ryan True.

He is charged with two counts of murder and is being held at the Middleborough Police Department.

Chief Perkins said the incident “is not a random act of violence,” and that residents have no reason to be afraid.

True is expected to be arraigned Friday morning on two counts of murder.
