15-year-old hit by car while riding mini-bike in Taunton has passed away, police say

Taunton — A 15-year-old teen has passed away following a motor vehicle crash Bristol County District Attorney announces.

The crash occurred at the Taunton intersection of Somerset Avenue and Silverwood Drive on Tuesday, January 21, after a 17-year-old female driver collided with the 15-year-old male while riding his dirt bike.

After the crash, the female was not injured but the male sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Bristol County D.A. Thomas Quinn announced Wednesday afternoon that the male has passed away from his injuries.

An investigation of the crash remains ongoing.
