BROCKTON, Mass. — A man who was shot by Brockton Police after reportedly lunging at them with a knife has died.
Police were called to Court Street just after noon on Friday for a disturbance call. There, officers found a man in his mid-20s with a knife.
Police ordered the man to put down the knife, but he refused and continued advancing toward officers.
According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz one officer fired at the man who was then taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton before he was transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where he later died.
He has been identified as Christopher Calabro, of Brockton.

The DA says this incident remains under investigation and he has requested an independent review of the shooting. The Cape and Islands District Attorney will conduct that review, Cruz said.
