Kids accused of vandalizing NH mosque could face hate crime charges

MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Two boys from New Hampshire are facing charges for allegedly vandalizing a mosque in Manchester.

The 11 and 13-year-old are suspected to have been involved in the July vandalism of the Islamic Society of Greater Manchester mosque.

Approximately $33,000 worth of damage was done to the mosque. The mosque has been under construction for the past five years waiting to make updates when donations became available.

However, the vandalism has now set them back.

The two boys currently only face vandalism charges in juvenile court, but investigators say they could escalate into hate crime charges.

Manchester police are still searching for a third suspect.
