Jabaal Sheard adjusting to life with Patriots

A new season, a very different look to the Patriots defense. With Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner gone, the emphasis this offseason has been focused on revamping the pass rush.

One of the key additions this offseason was former Browns defensive end Jabaal Sheard. He had 23 sacks in 4 seasons in Cleveland, and signed a 2-year deal with New England.

"I'm just excited to be here. Coach Belichick's obviously smart. He's going to put us in the best position to get the job done" Sheard said Tuesday at Gillette Stadium.

With training camp still two months away, Sheard says he already feels right at home with the Patriots.

"Everybody's like a family around here," Sheard said. "They accept you in right away. It's just been cool, showing me the city. Definitely a different city compared to Cleveland."

Sheard and others will be counted on to pick up the slack for a depleted secondary.
