FOX25's Robert Goulston spoke to the woman who tried to resuscitate the child.
"It was like errrrrr and then you heard a boom. I screamed to my daughter to call 911," Lavonia Neal said. "Held her nose and gave her two little breaths. I didn't touch the mother because the mother was breathing, but the baby wasn't breathing."
"Everyone was trying to help. It was very emotional. Everyone was crying. It was crazy," another witness told FOX25.
Both the infant and her mother were rushed to the hospital, where the child passed away Friday.
Neighbors told FOX25's Robert Goulston that the mother remains in the hospital, but is making progress.
The driver immediately stopped to help and told police what had happened. He does not face charges at this time, but police are looking to see if speed was a factor.
