(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Beachcombers in North Carolina may be in for a big surprise, as giant teeth belonging to the ancient Megaladon have been washing ashore.
Experts estimate that with fossilized teeth washing ashore measuring approximately six inches long, the prehistoric shark-like creatures would have measured an estimated 60 feet long. Some of the teeth are as large as an adult’s hand.
The coastal North Carolina region has been a hotspot for Megalodon fossils, according to PIX11, with this month setting a record in fossilized finds.
