FOX News contributor says no to Senate bid, backs Rep. Winslow

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) FOX News contributor and forensic psychiatrist Dr Keith Ablow tells FOX 25 Political Reporter Sharman Sacchetti he is declining to run in the race to fill John Kerry's senate seat.

The Newburyport resident says he will throw his support behind Republican State Rep. Dan Winslow of Norfolk.

In a statement, he tells FOX 25:

"As I made clear, with the sprint to the Special Election in June, a primary fight was not in my blood. I have conferred with my chief advisor Roger Stone, who agreed with my assessment of a primary as an unwise choice for me. I am, therefore, very excited to lend my full support to Dan Winslow in the 2013 race for U.S. Senate from Massachusetts. Dan is a man of great intellect, creativity and compassion. I will join Dan's Exploratory Committee and work hard on his behalf.

Rep. Winslow announced on Tuesday he created an exploratory committee and is 99-percent sure he will run for Senate.
