TAUNTON, Mass. — A former city council candidate in Taunton has been arrested and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, Boston 25 News has learned.
Tuesday night, police arrested John Cicco after an investigation they say included the discovery of close to 4,000 explicit images involving children on his computer. In some cases the children were as young as 4 years old.
Neighbors and friends tell Boston 25 News Cicco is well-liked within the community.
“I've known John for 16 years. He's always been a standup model guy. Never once had a problem,” Cicco’s friend Keith Parrett said.
He's also a husband, father of two and a Marine Corps veteran.
"We really like them, we hang out with the family. I don't see how this could happen," Friend Traci Ferriera said.
