Former student threatens to ‘take out every Marshfield Ram' with gun, police say

MARSHFIELD, Mass. — A former Marshfield High School student is being held in jail pending a dangerousness hearing after he allegedly made threats against the school and students in a disturbing Instagram post, according to police.

Several concerned parents called police after seeing the post Wednesday, saying they were scared for their children.

Police said the suspect, 19-year-old Andrew Lomuscio, threatened to burn down the town of Marshfield, but then he took it up a notch.

“He said he was going to take out every single (Marshfield) Ram,” Marshfield police Chief Phillip Tavares said. “All the students in Marshfield are Rams. He said he was going to use a glock.”

Police took Lomuscio to a mental health facility and charged him with threatening to commit a crime to murder and two other charges.

“We’ve had some history with him involving other troubling behavior,” Tavares said. “We immediately sought him out and located him and taken against his will and taken to a hospital,” Marshfield Police Chief Phillip Tavares said.

Lomuscio, who turned 19 Thursday, is being held without bail until a dangerousness hearing. The Marshfield superintendent has also requested Lomuscio be kept off school property.

He’ll be back in court next month.
