Arlington police learned that the money belonging to Tenoch Mexican Food Corporation, which has restaurants across Boston, Medford and Somerville. Police spoke to an employee at the Medford location, Guadalupe Alvarez, who confirmed she had lost the cash bag earlier in the week. The money was successfully returned.
Jasper and Erik Dopman met with Alvarez and the restaurant owner, Alvaro Sandoval, at the police department Thursday. Jasper and Erik received Outstanding Citizen Awards and gifts from Tenoch Mexican Food.
“Jasper and his dad, Erik, demonstrated what it means to be part of a community by returning missing money to its rightful owner, and Erik imparted an extremely valuable lesson on his son,” Chief Ryan said.
