Fire marshal investigating after 3-alarm blaze at housing complex Needham

NEEDHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze in Needham Friday night.

Just after 11 p.m., firefighters responded to a condo complex that was under construction on Greendale Avenue for the report of a fire.

Due to dry and windy conditions, the flames spread to the woods and caused a brush fire that was contained to about 2 acres. The brush fire prompted firefighters to strike a third alarm.

They worked for two hours to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.

The condos that caught fire were scheduled to be affordable housing units, officials say.

The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's office.
