FBI discovers remains in Providence

PROVIDENCE. R.I. — A dig along Branch Avenue in Providence has led to the recovery of human remains, possibly belonging to a mob hit victim.

The remains were found Thursday afternoon in the back of the property at 715 Branch Avenue in Providence.  The remains were turned over to the Rhode Island Office of the State Medical Examiners for testing and DNA analysis.

It is possible that the remains belong to Steven Disarro of Westwood, Massachusetts, who disappeared 23 years ago. Disarro was the owner of the Old Channel night club in South Boston when he disappeared in 1993. Nobody knows for sure why he was killed, but it is suspected that it has to do with Dissaro's purchase of the night club. He reportedly borrowed money from the mob to re-open it as a strip club.
