Father's Day a harsh reminder for family of missing Boston man

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Father's Day is always a trying day for the family of a Boston man who vanished nearly six years ago while visiting his girlfriend in Maine.

Miguel Oliveras was last seen on September 3, 2006 as he was leaving the Platinum Plus strip bar in Portland, Maine where his girlfriend worked.  Oliveras was reportedly led out of the club alongside another man who police are still trying to identify.

Although Oliveras' family hopes for the best, they mainly want answers.

Since September 2006, not a single solid lead has surfaced to indicate what happened to Oliveras.

Oliveras' mother Myrna Gonzalez told FOX 25 that her son has children who miss him more than anything, especially on days like Father's Day and father-related school functions.

Oliveras has a severely disabled 13-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter.

Oliveras reportedly called home to tell his mother that he was in Maine and that he was alright; however, that was the last time Gonzalez ever heard from him.

Authorities in Portland, Maine and in Boston continue to search for the answers Oliveras' family desperately seeks.

Anyone with information regarding Miguel Oliveras' disappearance is asked to contact police in Portland at 207-874-8524 or Boston Police Crime Stoppers at 1-800-494-TIPS.
