A new show created by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will be shot in Boston.
"City on a Hill" will be on Showtime as an hourly drama that will be executive produced by Affleck and Damon and written by Quincy native Chuck MacLean.
The show will take part in the early 90s in Beantown, showing how Boston transformed from a city riddled with corruption and gangs into what it is today, based on the "Boston Miracle."
The show will center on an African-American District Attorney and a corrupt, yet venerated FBI veteran. They will take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that changes the city's criminal justice system.
“'City on a Hill' is a gritty thriller about severe corruption and gangs, the type of series that takes you back and centers around the crime-riddled streets of Boston in the early 90s,” said executive producer Jennifer Todd.
Showtime did not have details about when the shooting for the show would begin in the city, nor did they say if it has been fully cast yet.
