Comm. Ave. Bridge Project: What to know if you ride the B Line, bus

With the closure of the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge while MassDOT replaces the existing superstructure, the Green B Line and buses will be detoured.

GREEN LINE

The MBTA Green B Line typically runs on Commonwealth Avenue through the length of Boston University's campus.

Starting July 26 at 9 p.m. until Aug. 13, shuttle buses will replace service between Babcock Street and Blanford Street.

Shuttles will make the following stops inbound toward Kenmore and Park Street:

  • Babcock St. - shuttles pick up from the corner of Commonwealth Ave. and Babcock St.
  • Pleasant St. - Commonwealth Ave. and Pleasant St.
  • Saint Paul St. - Commonwealth Ave. and Saint Paul St.
  • BU West - no service
  • BU Central - no service
  • BU East - Commonwealth Ave. and Hinsdale Mall
  • Blandford - shuttles drop off at Commonwealth Ave. and Blandford St. for continued Green Line service to Park Street

Shuttles will make the following stops in outbound toward Boston College:

  • Blandford - shuttles pick up at Commonwealth Ave. and Silber way
  • BU East - Commonwealth Ave. and Granby St.
  • BU Central - Commonwealth Ave. and Saint Mary's St.
  • Additional stop - Commonwealth Ave. and University Rd.
  • BU West - 855 Commonwealth Ave.
  • Saint Paul St. - Commonwealth Ave. and Buick St.
  • Pleasant St. - Commonwealth Ave. and Agganis Way
  • Babcock St. - shuttles drop off at Commonwealth Ave. and Babcock St. for continued Green Line service to Boston College.

BUS SERVICE

Routes CT2 and 47 will be detoured from July 27, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Aug. 14.

BICYCLE DETOURS

Bicyclists will be routed to Armory Street and St. Mary's Street as an alternative north to south.

On the westbound side, Commonwealth Avenue will remain open for bicyclists and pedestrians.
