Brandon Spikes returning to Patriots

Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has agreed to a one-year deal to rejoin the team that drafted him in 2010.

The deal, reported by ESPN, reunites Spikes with the organization he played with from 2010-2013. He spent the 2014 season with the Buffalo Bills.

Spikes was added to the roster on the same day the team released Cameron Gordon, who signed with New England as a free agent last season but spent the entire year on injured reserve.

When Spikes left the Patriots after in April, 2014, he left town in a blaze of negative tweets, including a tweet on April 9 stating, "4 years a slave," and another stating, "I'll tweet in a sec. Busy blocking every single #MassHole one sec #Twitter brb."

Apparently, the negativity upon his departure didn't hurt his chances to return to New England after a sub-par season in Buffalo.
