EVERETT, Mass. – The $2.5 billion casino in Everett is still under construction, but what it’s going to be called is still up for debate.
The casino was originally slated to be called Wynn Boson Harbor, but after the founder Steve Wynn was accused of sexual misconduct many began to question what prominently displaying his name would indicate.
“We are absolutely considering a rebranding of the project and we’ll have an announcement on that at a later date,” Robert DeSalvio, president of Wynn Boston Harbor, said.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission and Wynn Resorts are both investigating the claims, but neither investigation has halted progress on the construction.
The objective is to unearth what, if anything, the board of directors and senior management knew regarding the sexual harassment allegations against Wynn.

The gaming commission and the board hope to have those investigations completed by this summer, saying bringing those facts to light will create obvious next steps for the project.
During Thursday’s quarterly update, the chairman of the gaming commission said the project needs clearer policies on sexual harassment to move forward.

"It would be totally inappropriate for me to comment on anything at all relating to that. I will tell you Kim Sinatra [the former board member who Elaine Wynn accused of downplaying an allegation of rape] still works for the company, and those investigations are still underway. We're not going to comment during those investigations were going to let the process play out," DeSalvio said.
The resort is scheduled to open in June 2019. It’s unclear how much of an impact rebranding would have on the development or the licensing.
