Beyonce dedicates performance to Orlando nightclub shooting victims

DETROIT — As Beyonce wrapped up the last show in the U.S. leg of her Formation World Tour in Detroit, Michigan, she made sure to acknowledge the 49 lives lost in the devastating Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

Early Sunday morning, a gunman opened fire in the gay nightclub, killing 49 people and injuring 53 others.

He was killed in police crossfire.

"This next song is about love," Beyonce told fans in Detroit's Ford Field. "And I'd like to dedicate it to all the family members that had family that lost their lives in Florida."

As a musician, she may have also had the family of singer Christina Grimmie in mind.

Grimmie was killed when a man shot her while she was signing autographs after a concert in Orlando.

Beyonce performed "Halo," the last song in her set, for those families. A clip of her dedication is below:
