MIAMI — A baby ball python is recovering after it was found with its mouth sewn shut outside a South Florida home.
Lt. Scott Mullin with the Miami-Dade Fire Venom Response Unit posted pictures of the tiny snake on social media. The photos show what appear to be brown strings hanging from the snake's mouth. Mullin said he took the snake to a friend, who is also a snake breeder, and together they removed the stitches.
The snakes are very docile by nature and make great pets, Mullins said.
Florida wildlife officials say the snakes rarely grow to be more than 4 feet long.

Mullin got a call about the snake on Wednesday from members of a family who found it outside their home, according to local news reports.
