2-year-old drowns at Danvers home

DANVERS, Mass. — A 2-year-old Danvers child pulled from his family’s in-ground pool last night has died at Boston Children’s Hospital, according to the Essex County DA.

At 7:56 p.m., Danvers police received a 911 call of a near-drowning at a home on Drury Lane during a small gathering of family and friends.

Family members found 2-year-old Griffin Lamar in the pool, and they immediately began CPR.

As reported on the FOX25 News at 5, emergency personnel responded and took the child to Beverly Hospital.  From there, he was taken by med-flight to Boston.

The Drury Lane neighborhood in Danvers is heartbroken after hearing what happened.

Neighbors told FOX25 the boy's parents were always taking extra precautions, especially when the kids were playing on the quiet street.

The case is being investigated by Danvers police and state police detectives.
