17 years later, Bish family hosts final Missing Children's Day event

BOSTON — Seventeen years after they lost their daughter, the Bish family is letting go of another creation.

Molly Bish was 16 years old when she went missing in June of 2000. Her remains were found in June 2003.

After their daughter’s disappearance, Magi and John Bish began memorializing missing children at the Massachusetts State House every year.

There’s never been an arrest in Molly’s case, even after one of the largest investigations ever mounted in Massachusetts.

"I miss her. I miss her terribly," Molly's sister Heather said. "There's a big hole in our heart that's irreplaceable, and never gets smaller or goes away. We still suffer."

The gathering at the State House is an emotional day for all the families. There are 118 missing children in Massachusetts, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
