Ice Skating rinks in New England to visit this holiday season

Ice Skating is a stable when it comes to holiday activities. Here is a list of outdoor ice skating rinks in the New England area that will be perfect for a family trip or date night.

Kelly Outdoor Skating Rink, Jamaica Plain
Open: Nov. 26 to Feb. 24

Hours: Sun- Fri: 12 p.m. to 7:30 .p.m., Sat. 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This rink is great for skaters of all ages and abilities. Come and skate to the sounds of Motown and soul music. Admission is free and there is a low-cost skate rental available. Skating lessons are offered on Saturdays.

Winter Skate at Patriots Place, Foxborough
Open: Nov. 22

Hours: Mon- Wed: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thurs: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Fri: 4 .p.m. to 10 p.m., Sat and School Holidays: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sun: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Offering both day and evening skating is a perfect way for either a family trip or a date night. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children and seniors, with $2 off admissions price with a coat donation to Cradles and Crayons. Skate rentals are $4.

Boston Common Frog Pond, Boston
Open: Nov. 22

Hours: Mon: 10 .a.m. – 3:45 p.m., Tues. - Thurs: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fri. - Sat: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sun 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

One of Boston’s most treasured past-times is back again, come skate at the Frog Pond in the center of the beautiful Boston Common. Admission is based on skater’s height; 58-inches and over $6 and 58-inches and below gets in free. Skate rentals are $12 for adults and $ 6 for kids. Show your college ID on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and get half off admission!

Kendall Square Community Outdoor Ice Skating, East Cambridge
Open: Nov. 26 to Mid-March

Hours: Mon: 12 .p.m. to 5 .p.m. Tues. –Thurs: 12 .p.m.to 8 .p.m., Fri: 12 .p.m. to 9 .p.m., Sat 11 .a.m. to 9 .p.m., Sun 11 .a.m. to 6 .p.m.

This skating rink has many different attractions, from free skate, group outings, private rink rentals to a free skating shows. Admission is $5 for adults, student and seniors $3 and children 13 and under $1 . Skates are available to rent for $8 for adults, students and seniors, and $5 for children 12 and under.

Jack Kirrane Ice Skating at Larz Anderson Park, Brookline
Open: Nov. 26 to Feb. 24

Hours: Tues and Thurs.: 9:30 .a.m. to 11:30 .p.m., Fri 8 .p.m.- 10 .p.m., Sat and Sun , 12 .p.m. to 5 .p.m.

Come with your family for a nice leisure skate and when you want a break from skating, hit the concession stand enjoy some dinner with your family. Admission fee for resident adults is $5 and non-resident adults are $7. All kids rates are $3.

Alex and Ani City Center, Providence
Open: Dec. 12

Hours: every day and holidays: 10 .a.m. to 10 .p.m.

Come skate in the heart of Downtown Providence. With twice as much room as Rockefeller Center, this is a great way to have fun with the whole family and friends. Admission for adults is $7, while children 12 and under, seniors 65 and older and military is $4. Skating rentals are $6.

Newport Skating Center, Downtown Newport, RI

Come for the ice skating, and get a tasty meal after. This year Newport skating center has partnered with Blackstone Caterers. Admission for adults and teens is $7, senior citizens 55 and children 3-12 is $5, toddlers under 3 get in free with an adult. Skate rentals range from $3-$5.

Lee Twombly Pond, Falmouth, ME
Open: Dec. 2

Hours: Mon.-Wed, Fri. 10:30 .a.m. to 11:50 .p.m. Sat.: 5 .p.m. to 6 .p.m., Sun.: 1:20 .p.m. to 2:20 .p.m.

Great for skaters of all experiences, the pond offers many different classes, lessons and shows for the whole family's entertainment. Admission is $5 for everyone, but children 5 and under get in for free. Skate rental are only $2.
