Appropriately released on National Dog Day, "A Dog's Purpose" is based on a book by W. Bruce Cameron, author of 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.
Cameron and his wife wrote the script for the movie and it stars Bradley Cooper as the voice of the dog. It follows the dog's life as it is reincarnated again and again, always remembering his past dog lives and wondering "what is my purpose?".
Denis Quaid, John Ortiz and Peggy Lipton also star in the movie, along with several different dogs.
The movie won't be released until January of 2017. Watch the trailer below.
