BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - The cast of FOX TV’s hit show "Empire" wear bold fashion statements every week. As the show gears up for a second season, the show runner says the costume department is ramping up for the second season.
“The fashion on empire is a statement in itself. It is as important as the acting,” said Lee Daniels, co-creator of "Empire."
Kaitlin Doubleday plays Rhonda Lyon, the wife of Andre. She says the billionaire family can afford to wear whatever they want.
“What would somebody wear if they could wear anything? If every designer was willing to give them whatever they wanted,” Doubleday said.
Taraji P. Henson, who plays family matriarch Cookie Lyon, says designers are seeing the Empire is an outlet to showcase their work.
“I love to play dress up,” Henson said.
