Two schools in Bedford, NH reopen after bomb threat

BEDFORD, N.H. (MyFoxboston.com) --  Bedford High School and Lurgio Middle School reopened Wednesday afternoon after officials closed them due to a credible bomb threat to the schools, according to the school district.

Local police conducted a search of the building with canine units before reopening the schools. the sweep was finished at around 11:30 a.m.

In addition, Bedford High School in Massachusetts has received a bomb threat via e-mail.

Bedford Police Chief John Byfonski said a school administrator received the threat at about 6 a.m. He declined to say how the threat was communicated.

"This is a serious threat, and will be treated as such," he said in a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
