FORT BRAGG, N.C. — One U.S. Army soldier was killed and three others were injured Thursday in a military vehicle accident at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, authorities said.
In a news release, the injured soldiers were treated at the scene and taken to Womack Army Medical Center for more evaluation and treatment, WRAL-TV reported. The accident occurred at about 12 p.m. EDT.
The names of the deceased soldier and the three injured victims have not been released, The Daily Record reported. The deceased soldier’s name is being withheld until next-of-kin have been notified, and the identities of the injured soldiers have not been released per privacy guidelines, the newspaper reported, citing the Army news release.

“We are saddened by (the) death of one of our own as a result of a vehicle accident today,” Maj. Gen. Brian Mennes said in the news release. “Our heart goes out to the soldier’s family and friends as we collectively mourn the loss of this soldier.”
The wreck comes nearly eight months after a wreck in a military vehicle also killed one Fort Bragg soldier and injured four others, WNCN-TV reported.

In January, two Marines were killed and 17 others were injured after a rollover crash involving a military vehicle near Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Army officials said the investigation into Thursday’s crash is ongoing.
