Toy gun sends Pentucket Regional High into lockdown

WEST NEWBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Pentucket Regional High School was in lockdown briefly Friday morning after a toy gun was found at the school.

The superintendent for the Pentucket Regional School District told FOX 25 police responded to the scene about 10:45 a.m. Friday after a student reported seeing a gun tucked in the pocket of a another student.

The school then went into lockdown mode and state police searched the building to make sure it was safe.

The student with the gun was identified as a male student. The superintendent did not say whether he was taken to the police department or is still at the school.

Classes resumed at noon.
