WATERTOWN, Mass. — The man accused of trying to solicit sex from customers when he towed their cars appeared in court Friday.
FOX25 Investigates uncovered the investigation into the Perfection Towing employee, Mathew Walsh. Police said he tried to get two women on two different occasions to have sex with him while he was towing their cars.
Police arrested 37-year-old Walsh, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Thursday and charged him with two counts of accosting or annoying a person of the opposite sex.
Walsh faced a judge Friday, but would not commenting about the charges.
According to court records, when one of the woman told Walsh she had strep throat, he asked the woman if she could still perform a sex act. Police say Walsh also said, "he could turn on the a/c if she was hot or he could turn on the heat if she wanted to take some clothes off."
In another incident, police said Walsh ask a woman if she wanted to go into the woods and have sex where nobody could see them. The woman told police she was "terrified" because her phone was dead and the operator looked like he would or could get angry.
Perfection Towing said they performed a criminal background check on Walsh when they hired him less than a year ago.
“As soon as we found out about the allegations, he was terminated. We are cooperating fully with the State Police investigation,” said Sue Penta, owner of the company.
Mass State Police was contracting with the towing company to tow cars along the Mass Pike and in Metro Boston, but has since suspended them indefinitely.
Walsh was ordered to stay away from the women while the case goes through court. He's due back in court on Aug. 15
