TEWKSBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A woman was arrested after allegedly driving drunk and hitting an officer.
Bridgette Dodge, 24, of Lowell was arrested after allegedly operating under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop for a police officer and negligent operation. Dodge allegedly drove by a Tewksbury police officer who was working a detail on Main Street at about 1:10 a.m. The officer says he had to move out of the way of the car as it passed him, but was still hit by the driver's side mirror. The mirror then shattered from the collision, knocking the officer to the ground.
The officer was taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Dodge was due in court Friday for an arraignment.
