SOMERVILLE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Somerville teacher accused of maintaining a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old was ordered held on $50,000 bail Wednesday.
Alexandra Romanos, 41, of Stoneham, pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 by a mandated reporter, and disseminating material harmful to a minor. If she posts bail, Romanos must have no contact with children under the age of 16, except for her own. She must also refrain from using a computer.
An investigation into allegations made against Romanos, a teacher at the East Somerville Community School, began in June. Investigators allege Romanos began a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old both on and off school grounds in February.
Romanos was placed on administrative leave by the school as a result of the allegations.
