UPDATES:
4:30 a.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued to the Cape, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket until 5:45 a.m.
Thursday, 4:00 a.m.: Travelers at Boston Logan Airport were stranded well into the early hours of Thursday. Severe weather began rolling into the area on Wednesday afternoon, creating a ripple effect that would continue to impact those waiting to fly out or fly into Logan.
Passengers who were supposed to depart at around 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. didn't leave the airport until 2 and 3 a.m.
Overnight, cots were brought in for some to get a little bit of sleep. Unclaimed pieces of luggage lined the baggage claim area, taxi stands and rideshares were slammed with arriving passengers trying to get out of the airport and airlines struggled to accommodate passengers who had their flights canceled or delayed.
If you're flying out of Logan Airport on Thursday, double-check with your airline if there are any residual delays that could still impact your flight.
Wednesday, 2:35 p.m.: Ground stop ordered at Logan Airport until 3:30 p.m. due to thunderstorms in the area.
