Search for missing Westborough girl enters third day, reward offered

CHESTER, N.H. (AP) — As the search for a missing University of New Hampshire student from Westborough enters a third day, her family is now offering a reward for information about her.

Police said 19-year-old Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott, a commuter student at UNH, was last seen Tuesday night.

According to police, Marriott attended a 9 p.m. class on Tuesday and texted a friend that she wanted to meet up in Dover after.

Marriott never showed up to the meeting and never returned to her aunt's house in Chester, where she was living. She also missed work the following day at a Target store in Greenland.

Police said they were able to determine that Marriott's cell phone got a signal from a cell tower in Dover, N.H. at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday. That was the last signal the cell phone received.

Police also said her bank accounts had not been used since Tuesday.

Marriott's father told Fox 25 News that his daughter was very responsible and her disappearance is totally out of character.

"She's always been very responsible for doing the things she needs to do and reporting in," said Robert Marriott.

Marriott said his daughter was a 2011 graduate of Westborough High School and was studying marine biology at UNH.

"She's bouncy and full of energy. There's always a smile on her face," said Marriott. "I would like nothing more than to get a phone call: 'Hi dad, here I am, come get me.'"

According to Marriott's uncle, the text sent at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday was to her good friend in Westborough, saying she was hanging out with friends she met through work at Target.
Her uncle said when they didn't see her car the next morning, they just figured she spent the night. When Thursday morning came and she still wasn't home and her friend contacted her parents to say she also hadn't heard from her since that text, they contacted police.

Marriott's aunt told FOX 25's Catherine Parrotta that Friday is the Marriott's 25th wedding anniversary and now their oldest child is missing. Said a bus of Westborough High School students are on their to Dover to hang flyers.

On Wednesday the Marriott family put up a $10,000 reward for information leading to Lizzi.
