Reward increased in dog's heat death in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. — The reward to find the person responsible for a dog's heat death in Brockton has now been increased to $3,000, the MSPCA announced on Friday.

A young Chihuahua found abandoned in a crate on the driveway of a Brockton animal shelter on July 11 died from overheating on the way to an animal hospital, the organization said.

The MSPCA offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible.

It said thanks to donations from concerned citizens the amount is now $3,000.

The MSPCA has received more than two dozen tips but n suspect has been identified.
