Quincy bar assault suspect had history of violent attacks

QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- An assault at a Quincy bar left a local man nearly dead, and the suspect in that attack faced a Quincy District Court judge on Wednesday.

The judge judge put that suspect away without bail. Court documents show he has a history of vicious attacks, and prosecutors say the latest attack was completely unprovoked, and the victim may not live.

Paul Fahey, 42,  faced a judge, accused of a violent assault.

"Completely unprovoked, this defendant went over to the victim punched him in the face, then when the victim was lying on the ground stomped on his head," the prosecutor said in court.

It happened at the Home Ice Sports Bar, leaving 41-year-old Keith Boudreau near dead.

"He suffered massive brain injury caused by blunt force trauma when the defendant stomped on his head," the prosecutor detailed.

Court documents show the bar owner who witnessed it told police "I'm scared for my life," saying the suspect is a member of the Outlaw motorcycle gang, and that "Paul was just staring at him and eventually said 'Don't say anything.'"

A list of Fahey's prior convictions include three assault and battery cases dating all the way back to 1996.

Boudreau has been taken off life support and is not expected to survive. If he dies, prosecutors say there would be a new set of charges.
