Police investigating suspicious death; Cruisers collide responding to shooting

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Officials are investigating a "suspicious death" of an adult man in Manchester.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's office did not release further information on the death. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning, according to the AG's office.

In another incident in the city, which may be related, two Manchester Police cruisers collided with each other while responding to a reported shooting around 6:30 p.m. Monday on Notre Dame Avenue and Conant Street.

Police said the two officers crashed at the corner of Granite and Second streets. A witness told Boston 25 that the officer in the marked cruiser ran a red light with his lights on and smashed into an unmarked white sedan.

One of the cars struck a light pole and knocked it down.

"I actually pulled over and got out, because I didn't know the white car was a cop until I went over and opened his door to see if it was a cop, and then that’s when I saw his uniform," said Michelle Moge, a witness. "He was dazed, kind of, and then he ended up getting out, too. But he was bleeding on his nose and I think he broke his nose, maybe."

The two officers involved in the crash were taken to the Elliot Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

A 20-year-old man was sent to a local hospital. There's still no word on his condition.
