Police: 17-year-old crashes stolen BMW into creek in Sudbury

SUDBURY, Mass. — A 17-year-old has been arrested after police say he stole a car from a dealership and wrecked it into a creek in Sudbury early Thursday morning.

Sudbury police say an officer spotted a car racing down Boston Post Road around 5 a.m. and lost sight of it while turning around to purse. Shortly afterward, police say they got an automated 911 call from the car after it had wrecked into the stream.

When officers arrived, they found the car empty and began a search of the area. Nearby that crash, police say someone called police to report a man trying to break into their car outside their home.

Police dogs were brought in and found the 17-year-old hiding in a neighbor’s backyard.

Police say they are still determining all the charges the 17-year-old will face.
