EXETER, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A woman died after being hit by a garbage truck Wednesday in Exeter, NH.
At about 1:22 p.m., police responded to Industrial Drive for a crash involving a garbage truck and bicyclist. Police say the crash happened when traffic was being directed through a lane closure. Margaret Rugg, 64, was riding her bike when witnesses say she attempted to ride around the closure, lost her balance and fell into the path of the garbage truck. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The truck, which is property of Pinard Waste Management Systems, was being driven by Mark Lancey, 49. Lancey was not injured and police have not said if he will face charges.
Police say it doesn't appear that drugs or alcohol were factors, but the crash remains under investigation.
