NATICK (FOX 25 /MyFoxBoston.com) – Natick High School bid farewell to the Red and Blue as they voted for a new school mascot.
Students and staff reportedly voted overwhelmingly to change their mascot's name to the Red Hawks as the student body prepares to move to a newly constructed school inthe fall.
The mascot change comes after a 2007 school committee vote getting rid of Natick's original Redmen name considering it offensive to Native Americans.
The school had temporarily played under the name Red and Blue, the school's colors.
