BROCKTON, Mass. — A Brockton woman is heartbroken after thieves stole her mother's ashes out of her car.
“My mother was very strong. She had cancer. Breast cancer. She fought for almost 20 years on and off,” Carolyn Parker told FOX25.
Since her death this summer, Donna Potter's picture sits on the dashboard on her daughter, Carolyn Parker’s, car. A little bit of her ashes also sit in a box.
“They've just been in my car so that way when I go to spread them, I'll have them in my car,” she said.

This week, Parker’s car was broken into while it was parked in front of her home in Brockton, along with others on her street.
“Everything that was in here was taken out. Everything; my sunglasses. Couple pairs of sunglasses. They were all taken out,” she said.
Among the stolen items were her mother’s ashes.
“They could've taken anything. Any material thing. It's replaceable. But someone's ashes. They're not replaceable,” she said.
Parker believes the ashes may have been mistaken for drugs. She's filed a police report, but says all she wants is whomever took the ashes to return them, no questions asked.
“In a weird way, this is her. Maybe the person that took this is going to learn something from this and that's going to help them. Because that's the type of person that she was,” she told FOX25.
