Meteorologist asked to cover up on live tv, internet goes crazy

LOS ANGELES — Is a black, beaded dress too much for morning news? Some Los Angeles viewers think so and a meteorologist got called out on-air because of it.

Liberte Chan was in the middle of a weather forecast on KTLA, a station in Los Angeles, when someone off camera handed her a cardigan. He said they had been "getting a lot of emails."

She explained on Facebook afterward that she had been wearing a different dress earlier, but it didn't show up on the green screen - known as the "chroma key." So she borrowed the black beaded back up dress.

After the caridgan incident, Chan had a Facebook Live where she and the two morning anchors read some of the emails out loud.

"Liberte Chan looks like she stayed out late at a party and came to a work in the same dress," said one email.

"It's a dress people - can we talk about my weather performance?" Chan said on the Facebook live.

Twitter users have been ranting about the video, many saying how rudely Chan was treated.

@1PhoebeJTonkin @Variety @KTLA I don't know what's worse misogyny or that sweater.
