BOSTON (AP) - The highest court in Massachusetts is set to hear an appeal by a Boston man convicted of participating in the 2006 fatal shooting of a man in Cambridge.
The Supreme Judicial Court is slated to hear arguments Thursday in an appeal by Ahmad Bright, who was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Corey Davis.
Remel Ahart of Cambridge was convicted of shooting Davis. Sherrod Bright, Ahmad Bright's older brother, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and accessory before the fact.
Authorities said Sherrod Bright ordered his brother and Ahart to kill Davis in a dispute over money.
Ahmad Bright argues that the trial judge should have questioned more jurors about reports that several said Ahmad Bright had a juvenile criminal record and was dealing drugs. The judge questioned two jurors.
